Questions
How do I calculate whether to buy or rent GPUs?
Divide the monthly cost of owning (server price over its life, plus hosting) by the cost of renting the same GPUs around the clock. That ratio is your break-even utilisation. Busier than that, buying wins.
What rental rate should I compare against?
The rate you would actually pay for a steady workload, usually a committed or reserved rate, not on-demand. We default to a published Indian committed rate for H200.
Why does depreciation matter?
Owned servers depreciate at 40% a year, so a large share of the cost is deducted in the first year. Rent is deducted only as you pay it.
